Dear MCBE Parents and Student,        
                                  
Your child has expressed an interest in auditioning for the MCBE CHORUS program. The information in this letter will help you and your child decide if you can make the necessary commitment to make this one of the highlights of your child’s musical experience here at MCBE.

Time and Place:  Wednesday, September 4th from 2:00-4:00 PM in the Music Room #126:
The auditions will take place in the music room after school on Wednesday, September 4th from 2:00-4:00 PM.  Transportation arrangements must be made to pick up your child promptly at the 4:00 PM. 

Audition Prep: Be prepared to sing Happy Birthday correctly with good tone.
The audition process is very basic.  Students must be able to echo clap rhythmic patterns, match pitch by singing back selected intervals on a “loo,” and sing through the Happy Birthday song.  We will be evaluating your singing abilities.   We will be looking to see if you possess these characteristics: good tone quality, good projection (big voice), staying on key, good diction, ability to sing one thing while someone else is singing another, and confidence.  If you would like to prepare a song of your own choice that reflects your vocal abilities  in addition to the Happy Birthday song you can, but it is NOT required. 
We will also take into account our previous experience with you in the classroom or other group settings regarding your personal behavior and responsibility.

If you feel that your child would be a great asset to this performance group, please complete and submit this online Chorus Permission Form no later than August 30th, 2024.   All registrations will close after the deadline.
